\n\tISSJ deals with adoptions so that children will have an opportunity to grow up in home. Especially, ISSJ prioritizes “inter-country adoptions” for less burden on children. The adoption process does not just end upon adoption court process; instead, it’s a process that lasts throughout a lifetime for people involved. ISSJ recognizes adoptee’s right to know and we consider tracing service a part of adoption.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWhether it’s concerning international marriage or divorce, how to get a spouse or children to Japan or any other procedures, you can receive a variety advice from our social workers. We also facilitates visitations and contacts between parents and their children who do not live with each other and are therefore unable to see one another without special arrangement.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tISSJ helps stateless children with the procedures to acquire a nationality. If the whereabouts of the parents are unknown, then we will examine what information is available, and try reporting the birth to the respective foreign government office located in Japan. If the child is able to acquire a nationality, then the child will have the option to be reunited with birth family who lives in child’s original country.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tISSJ provides a wide range of consultation service for refugee and asylum seekers in Japan in order to facilitate their integration into Japanese society. We take into consideration each person’s back ground in fleeing persecution so as to provide the most appropriate form of support, such as life counseling and home visit. Utilizing our expertise in social work, we take a holistic approach of working not just with the individuals but with their families and communications as well.\n<\/p>\n
