●In November and December, 2014, ISSJ held workshops for refugees in Tokyo on the subject of “Japanese Social Security and Pension Systems” and “Alcohol and Health.”
●Every month, ISSJ social workers visit Tokyo Immigration Bureau in Shinagawa Tokyo, and Higashi Nihon (East Japan) Immigration Center in Ushiku, Ibaragi prefecture for counselling.
We need volunteer interpreters who can translate French, Persian, Turkish, Urdu, Shinhalese, Tamil, Bengali, etc. for counselling at immigration detention facilities, or assistance at hospitals and other public institutions.
