Translation for International Child and Family Welfare Services

Translation service is essential in dealing with cases that involve other countries and Japan. As ISSJ handles various cases including intercountry adoption, international marriage and divorce, acknowledgement of children, family reunion, repatriation, succession to property, and search for families, we translate different official and private documents in order to facilitate the case process. The available languages for translation at ISSJ are Japanese, English, Tagalogue, and Spanish.

In adoption cases, it is necessary to translate various kinds of documents such as family registers, birth certificates, physical/psychological examination reports, marriage/divorce certificates, recommendation letters, police clearances, income/tax certificates, home studies and child studies, adjustment reports, affidavit of consent to adoption by biological parents, relevant adoption laws, court decrees, etc.

For repatriation of Filippino children who were abandoned by their care takers in Japan, birth certificates, child study reports, documents from child guidance center, and authority to escort and study report on undertaking families issued by the Philippine Department of Social Welfare and Development should be translated.

In refugee cases which are recently increasing in number, translation of documents concerning residence, job, medical service, and other necessary assistance as well as documents for the process of departure for the third country is necessary in the assistance process.
